07/17/2003 Entry: "Doesn't Time Fly"

It has been a busy week. Taylor has been back to A&E, he has also finished his first term at Playgroup, and had his first Sports Day, and then a Concert the day after. Where does the time go?

We had a little bit of a scare last week, when Taylor decided to go head first down a short slide into a swimming pool, local to us. He has has done this many times before, but this time, he had trouble lifting his head to get air, and stayed under a little longer than he should. He reacted by going into shock, went very pale, and clingy, as he often does when he is not feeling well. The lifeguard was reading a magazine all through this !!!

The day after, he was having trouble breathing, and so we took him to A&E. They gave him some oxygen in a mask (which took time for him to get used to) plus a little something that opens up the poors in his lungs. This and an x-ray later he was back to his old self, running around the ward. It was then my turn to be ill, but I am starting to recover now.

This last Wednesday Taylor had his Sports day at a local school. He managed to get in one race, as did mum (in the mums race) before the rain came down, and they abandoned it. He did very well, racing against children bigger than himself. He didn't win, but he was definately the one with the biggest smile as he ran.

Today was his concert. He was a farmyard duck, and once again showed the Drayson stage confidence, by beaming out to the audience, even managing to give himself a clap at the end. Stole the show for me anyway.

So much in such a short time. What will be next?

Blue - oh dear - what a scare. I remember when Cathy toppled head first into the swimming pool when we were on holiday just outside Lyme. It looked like one of those slow motion films as she sank to the bottom with her hair out around her. Fortunatly we saw it happen and Ian rushed to the edge and grabbed her out by the hair. Unlike Taylor, she was fine, but I know how you feel!

Hope you get better soon - not like you to be ill.
