Sunday, October 7, 2001 : This weekend

Taylor has had a busy weekend, on Saturday he spent the day with Grannie and Gramps and they took him to Godstone farm. Aparrently he loved seeing all the animals and he had a play in the soft play area. he enjoyed himself and Mummy was told that he had been a good boy!!! Despite having a temperature he was still good and stayed overnight at there house too. He slept in Auntie Lyn's room and got her up at 8am!! Mummy and Daddy had a lovely evening out and enjoyed a lie-in until 10.40 am. It was bliss. A big thank you to Grannie, Gramps and Auntie Lyn.

ON Sunday afternoon, Mummy, Daddy, Taylor, Auntie Lyn and Robyn went to Tigers Eye in Merton for the afternoon. I don't know who had more fun, Daddy or Taylor!! Taylor went in the ball pool area, bouncy castle and into the big boy bit with Daddy. Daddy said Taylor wanted to go in it.... Robyn was very contented to watch the world go by and see all the lovely colours. It won't be long before she will be able to join in.

Tuesday, October 2, 2001 : Going through the night

For just over a week now, Robyn has been sleeping through the night, she is generally asleep by 8pm, and wakes around 7am! I have moved her midnight feed forward to 11pm, which somehow she manages to drink without waking!! (So clever at such a young age!)
For her morning sleep I have been putting her down in her cot (as opposed to her crib in my room) for about 8 days now, and she's taken to it really well, she loves to play in there and watch the animals on her mobile go round and round, shes quite funny to watch as it looks like shes reading a book, her eyes follow one animal as it goes round, and then move back to follow the next one as it arrives, and she does this for ages, looking very serious.
Because she took so well to her cot, last night I decided that it was time for her to sleep there at night, (I think I was more apprehensive than her), she took a little longer to settle, (she's never been in her new room when its dark, and it was quite windy outside) and we had a really lovely cuddle, with the lights down low, and mellow music in the background. (I'm not sure who enjoyed it more!). Once she had settled I checked on her and found that she had managed to wiggle herself half way up the cot, so that she had no covers on at all, I found she'd done it again when I went to get her in the morning, (why do they do this?!!) This morning she woke around 6am, but I left her until just before 7am, then bought her in with me, and she slept for a further hour snuggled up in my bed, I think I'm getting sentimental in my old age! (I'm a bit of a hypercrit now, I always say to my employers that you should never bring a baby/child into your bed as it creates bad habits !!)

Robyn went to Bocketts Farm on Saturday with myself, Auntie Clare, Taylor, Chloe and Jack Robertshaw, and had her very first go in a swing! She loved it and had a huge grin on her face for the whole time she was in there.
She is now able to grip some things, and Auntie Clare bought some hand held bells, which she was shown in the shop and then refused to let go of!! every time her arm moved she heard this jingling sound, which brought a smile to her face, it was so sweet.
